Interlocal Agreements

Introduction

The City of Tacoma, coordinated through the Planning and Development Services Department, seeks to streamline permit review of projects by reaching long-term agreements with other agencies with jurisdiction, agreements that establish key objectives, avoid duplication of efforts, and specify how joint review will occur.  Listed below are some of the Interlocal Agreements (ILAs) that the City has established.

DRA with Metro Parks Tacoma

The Development Regulation Agreement (DRA) between the City Tacoma and Metro Parks Tacoma to facilitate improvements to Point Defiance Park under its 20-year Master Plan was recorded in December 2015.

ILA with University Place

The ILA between the City of Tacoma and the City of University Place was entered into on June 5, 2013, for the review and the authorization for cooperative permitting of the Narrows Marina Phased Master Site Plan.

ILA with Port of Tacoma
The ILA between the City of Tacoma and the Port of Tacoma authorizes a flexible approach to the provision of public access under the City's Shoreline Master Program.
