Stop by one of the Security desks.
 
If you are in the Customer Support Center, the Customer Support Center would call the department responsible for your visit to notify them that you have arrived, notify the Security desk that the department has been contacted and escort or send you to the Security desk so you can sign in, provide official photo identification and obtain a visitor badge.
Provide official photo identification to confirm your first name and last name.
Security would then call the department responsible for your visit to notify them that you have arrived, and issue your visitor badge.
Wear your visitor badge visibly and proceed to the meeting room.
When you are done with your visit, return your visitor badge to one of the Security desks.

I am here to go somewhere other than a meeting room.

When you are done with your visit, return your visitor badge to one of the Security desks.

Sign in at one of the Security desks.
Provide official photo identification to confirm your first name and last name.
Security would check to see if your name is on the list of attendees for that meeting or training session.
If you are in the Customer Support Center, the Customer Support Center would check to see if your name is on the list of attendees for that meeting or training session.
If your name is on the list of attendees for that meeting or training session, the Customer Support Center would notify the Security desk and escort or send you to the Security desk so you can sign in, provide official photo identification and obtain a visitor badge.
If your name is on the list of attendees for that meeting or training session, you would be issued your visitor badge.
 
If your name is not on the list of attendees for that meeting or training session, Security would call the department responsible for that meeting or training session to verify your information and - if the department contact approves - you would be issued a visitor badge.
 
If the department contact does not approve, you would be offered assistance from the Customer Support Center.
 
Wear your visitor badge visibly and proceed to the meeting or training room.
When you are done with your visit, return your visitor badge to one of the Security desks.
 

I am here to attend an open public meeting.

Sign in at one of the Security desks.
Security would check to see if the meeting is listed on the City's weekly meeting calendar and scheduled on TMB Floors 4-15.
 
If you are in the Customer Support Center, the Customer Support Center would check to see if the meeting is listed on the City's weekly meeting calendar and scheduled on TMB Floors 4-15.
 
If the meeting is listed on the City's weekly meeting calendar and scheduled on TMB Floors 4-15, the Customer Support Center would notify the Security desk and escort or send you to the Security desk so you can obtain a visitor badge.
If the meeting is listed on the City’s weekly meeting calendar and scheduled on TMB Floors 4-15, you would be issued your visitor badge. You will not be required to sign the visitor log.
If the meeting is listed on the City’s weekly meeting calendar and scheduled on TMB Floors 1-3, a visitor badge is not required. Simply proceed to the meeting.
When you are done with your visit, return your visitor badge to one of the Security desks. If you do not have visitor badge, you are free to simply leave the building.
 

I am here for Permitting Walk-In Customer Service (no appointment)

Check in logoThe Planning & Development Services Department (Permitting for Building, Land Use, and Site Development) has lobby/walk-in hours on the 3rd Floor on Monday and Friday, 10 AM - 2:30 PM, and Tuesday - Thursday from 8 AM - 4:30 PM, except on observed holidays.

To visit the Permit Counter during business hours, simply arrive at the 3rd floor and check in at the front counter.  No badge is necessary.

If you are in the Customer Support Center, the Customer Support Center would escort or send you to the Security desk so you can sign in, provide official photo identification and obtain a visitor badge.
Provide official photo identification to confirm your first name and last name so that Security can issue your visitor badge.
Wear your visitor badge visibly and proceed to the location(s) of your visit.
When you're done with your visit, return your visitor badge to one of the Security desks.
