A Statement From Council Member Joe Bushnell on State Capital Budget Allocation to Fund a South End Community Center Feasibility Study

“The $200,000 allocation in the capital budget will study the placement and operations of a new community center serving the South End of Tacoma. I am grateful to Senator Steve Conway, Representative Jake Fey, Metro Parks Tacoma, and the many legislators and advocates who joined me in support of this budget request throughout the legislative process. I am especially grateful to the South End residents who elevated this issue and are driving forward positive change for our community. I look forward to collaborating with Metro Parks Tacoma on this feasibility study and working hand-in-hand with South End residents to create safe community spaces for youth and families to gather in Tacoma.”
