Requests for Interest (RFI)

The RFI for Old City Hall is for reference only as the deadline for responding to it was October 30, 2015. 

 

Adaptive Reuse of Old City Hall in Downtown Tacoma Washington

The City of Tacoma, Washington invites you to respond to a Request for Interest (RFI) regarding the adaptive reuse of Old City Hall built in 1892 located at 625 South Commerce Street into a high quality development that contributes to the vitality of the Old City Hall District, which served as the city’s early governmental, commercial and entertainment center from 1886 through the 1920s.  Substantial reinvestment is underway in this area, including a $15 million renovation of the former Winthrop Hotel into housing and a planned $22 million restoration of the Elks Temple into a new McMenamins entertainment venue projected to commence in spring 2016 and be completed within one year.

 

It is the City’s preference to attract uses that create synergy with surrounding development, maximize tax revenues, recoup its investment, result in new jobs and draw pedestrian traffic to the area.  Hotels or offices that support companies/organizations with financial strength and growth potential are strongly preferred.  Street-level, pedestrian-friendly uses, such as restaurants and retail venues, are highly desirable.  Market rate residential development will also be considered.

Requests for Proposals (RFP)

The Tacoma Community Redevelopment Authority (TCRA) is seeking Request for Proposals from real estate brokers/firms with an emphasis on seller representation to sell single-family residences (sites) of 1 to 4 units located within the city limits of Tacoma to income qualified homebuyers and to provide opinions of value for properties under consideration for acquisition by TCRA. The deadline for submission of hard copy or electronic proposals is Monday, February 8, 2016 by 4 p.m. The chosen broker/firm must meet insurance certificate requirements and proposals must include an Affirmative Fair Marketing Form. Request for Qualifications (RFQ)

The Tacoma Community Redevelopment Authority (TCRA) invites you to respond to a Property Management Request for Qualifications for property management services pertaining to all aspects of the marketing, screening, leasing of units, and day-to-day operations, maintenance and regulatory compliance in association with the Valhalla Hall project, located at 1216- 1218 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Tacoma, WA.

 

The 6,500 square-foot building is located in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood and is an improved three-story building that formerly served as a social hall for the Swedish Order of Valhalla. TCRA has engaged a non-profit housing developer with the goal to convert the former social hall into a mixed-use building with 26 residential units and 2 live/work units on the ground floor.

 

The deadline for RFQ submissions is Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 at 5 PM.
