Green Tacoma Day

Green Tacoma Day, October 14, 2017

Green Tacoma Day is an annual celebration of the Green Tacoma Partnership’s work to restore 1,881 acres of urban green space. This day of service offers great opportunities for the Tacoma community to get to know each other and our local green spaces. This year, there were a number of activities available to choose from that each highlighted a different way to support the City’s urban forests and green spaces.

Volunteers Helped to Keep Tacoma Green

There were 14 sites throughout the city at which to volunteer on Green Tacoma Day. The Green Tacoma Partnership invited people of all ages to get outside, have fun and engage in Tacoma’s green spaces.

On Saturday, October 14, 2017, over 240 volunteers planted trees, removed invasive weeds, connected with the community, and provided a helping hand to our natural areas!

Stay tuned for more information on next year's event. No experience is necessary, so plan on bringing along your whole family, friends, or just yourself for a fun morning of service. For more information, visit the Green Tacoma Day web page
