School Programs

Providing fire safety education, injury prevention messages, and positive community role models are the goals of the Elementary School Age Program.  The safety and well-being of school age children is important to the Tacoma Fire Department, especially when it comes to their knowledge of fire and life safety skills.  For that reason, we have developed several resources to help you teach your school age group about fire safety. Both public schools and private schools are invited to use this program. If you have questions regarding our school programs please call (253) 591-5740 or contact the Prevention Office.

Business Services

The Tacoma Fire Department provides fire prevention and emergency preparedness assistance to the City's business community.  Resources for developing fire emergency plans and for training staff are available free of charge. This includes a variety of occupancies, from high-rise buildings to hospitals and long-term care facilities.

If you are an area business owner or building manager, please take time to review the information we've provided on this page. Should you need further assistance or have specific questions regarding fire prevention or emergency planning call us at (253) 591-5740 or contact the Prevention Office.
