Tacoma Report - July 11, 2025
🌟 Just some adorable mom-and-daughter tapir vibes! 😊 This week, Yuna and her little one, Ume, explored their beautiful new waterfall habitat.
Our friends at @ptdefiancezoo in #Tacoma are home to a lovely family of Malayan tapirs: Yuna, and her calf, Ume. Ume, born on February 2, ...2025, is the second Malayan tapir calf in the zoo's 120-year history! Malayan tapirs are an endangered species native to Southeast Asia, and the zoo is dedicated to conservation efforts to protect them.
Make sure to stop by the zoo this weekend to see our friends exploring their homes!
