Puyallup River Bridge Has Reopened After Vehicle Accident

According to the City of Tacoma’s Public Works Department on Sunday, Nov. 9, structural components of the Puyallup River Bridge (connecting Tacoma and Fife via Eells Street) were damaged in a vehicle accident.

The bridge was then closed on Nov. 9, pending an evaluation. The City worked with a structural engineering company to complete an assessment that showed the damage was not significant enough to effect load capacity. The City has now reopened the bridge with the pre-accident 10-ton weight limit in effect.
