City of Tacoma Observes Thanksgiving Holiday November 28 and 29

 

Administrative offices in the Tacoma Municipal Building complex (747 Market St. and 733 Market St.) and in other City of Tacoma facilities will close Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  

The Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen St.) will close – and garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be collected – Thursday, November 28. Customers whose garbage, recycling and yard waste are normally picked up on Thursdays or Fridays can expect pick-up one day later this week. All other customers can expect pick-up as normally scheduled. 

Police and fire personnel will be on duty Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, and animal control personnel will be on duty from 8 AM - 8 PM on each of those days.   

Following is a list of other closures and service adjustments relating to the Thanksgiving holiday:

  • All Tacoma Public Library facilities will close Thursday, November 28.
  • The Tacoma Municipal Court (930 Tacoma Ave. S) will close Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29. 
  • There will be no parking enforcement by City staff Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29.
