Celebrate 2021 Historic Preservation Awards May 28
The Tacoma Landmarks Preservation Commission will present the 2021 Historic Preservation Awards on May 28 from 6-8 p.m. on ZOOM (Dial-in: (253) 215 8782, Webinar ID: 861 9043 9133).
The awards celebrate the best in preservation projects and programming and recognize the significant efforts made by the preservation and heritage communities to remain resilient throughout an unprecedented year.
This year’s Historic Preservation Awards categories and recipients are:

The Spar, 2121 N 30th St, which has operated as a bar since 1917 and as “The Spar” since the 1920s.

“We are excited to be joined at this year’s event by diver and explorer, Ryan Spence, who will deliver the events key note address,” said Historic Preservation Officer Reuben McKnight. “Mr. Spence will share some of Tacoma’s biggest undersea mysteries from lost ships and maritime disasters to legendary sea creatures.”
