Applicants Sought for Tacoma Community Redevelopment Authority Board
The Tacoma City Council is looking to fill seven positions on the Tacoma Community Redevelopment Authority Board: one certified public accountant representative, two at-large positions, two attorney representatives, and two positions with experience in contracting housing developments. Each term will last two years.
The Board, among other responsibilities, administers loans to a variety of populations including low-income Tacoma families who need help buying or repairing their homes, developers that provide multi-family housing to low-income families, businesses that create jobs or rehabilitate blighted commercial spaces, and non-profit organizations that provide housing assistance and economic development services to the Tacoma community.
The Board is comprised of at least 10, but not more than 15, members including two at-large members and two members with experience in each of the following professional capacities: lawyers, bankers, housing development, or contracting professionals, certified public accountants, and real estate brokers or agents.
The City is committed to creating an equitable and anti-racist community and wants its committees, boards and commissions to reflect Tacoma’s diverse community. For these vacancies, Black and Indigenous community members, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, individuals with disabilities, seniors, immigrants, and refugees are strongly encouraged to apply.
