🇮🇳 If you drive by the Tacoma Dome today, August 15, 2025, you'll see a new flag flying! It’s the Indian Tricolor flag and it's flying because today marks 79 years since India emerged from over two centuries of colonial rule and began its journey as a sovereign democracy. We have ...many people of Indian descent in Tacoma, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them.

🏆💙 The National Association of Counties recognized the Summer Teen Late Nights program with a 2025 Achievement Award! We're proud to help fund this program that offers middle and high school students the chance to stay active in a safe space throughout the summer.
Earlier this ...week, members of the Joint Municipal Action Committee, including #TacCouncil Member Kristina Walker, joined other local elected officials to engage with young people in the program at the Milgard Family Eastside Branch of the Boys and Girls Club of South Puget Sound.
This program is a collaborative effort of many community partners who all place importance on helping our youth thrive. The program runs this year through August 29, 2025.
