Application and Reporting

Green Event Program applications are accepted year round. Applications must be submitted 60 days before an event or activity. The application forms below must be used; other formats will not be accepted. If you have any questions or need help completing your application, please contact the Office of Environmental Policy and Sustainability by email or at (253) 591-5172. 



The application includes two required forms that assist in planning a Green Event. To receive ES Event Support an additional form is required. These include:

  1. Pre-Event Scorecard - Provides suggestions for planning a more sustainable event. Select the initiatives that are right for your event, or suggest your own sustainable actions. This is required.
  2. Waste Management Plan - Contact City of Tacoma Solid Waste staff member Mike Sowards by email or at (253) 377-3428 to make a plan for managing the waste generated by your event. This is required.
  3. Optional ES Event Support - If your event is located in Tacoma, qualifies as a Green Excellence event and your organization is not-for-profit, complete the optional form for free or discounted in-kind resources. This form is not required.

An Event Wrap-Up Form must be submitted within 20 days after your event.
