Kurtis D. Kingsolver was appointed to serve as the Interim Deputy City Manager in March 2022.

In his capacity as Interim Deputy City Manager, Kingsolver oversees the following City departments: Environmental Services, Community and Economic Development, Planning and Development Services, Tacoma Venues & Events, Finance, and Information Technology. He also oversees the Tacoma FIRST 311 Division and serves as the City’s Liaison to the Library Department.

Kingsolver joined the City of Tacoma as a civil engineer in 1990 after graduating from Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering in 1989. He quickly rose up the ranks to become traffic engineer, division manager, city engineer, assistant director, and then the Public Works Department Director and City Engineer.
