District 4 Town Hall With Council Member Marty Campbell Scheduled for July 14
District 4 City Council Member Marty Campbell will host a Town Hall meeting on Monday, July 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., in the Lincoln High School cafeteria (701 S. 37th St. in Tacoma). The meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about projects planned by the Washington State Department of Transportation, the City of Tacoma’s Public Works Department, and Pierce County that will directly impact the neighborhoods in the area near Lincoln High School.
“My goal for this Town Hall is to provide my constituents living in the Lincoln area with an opportunity to get all of their questions answered about these upcoming projects. I’ve asked representatives from these agencies to come and talk about their plans and answer any questions that may arise from the community. I’m hoping for an informative and robust discussion,” said Campbell.
Topics for discussion will include WSDOT’s plans for expansion of Interstate 5 that will entail closures of the Pacific Avenue and McKinley Way bridge overpasses, the City of Tacoma’s rehabilitation of the Tacoma Avenue South bridge, and Pierce County’s plan to build a new administration building at South 35th Street and Pacific Avenue. All projects are expected to begin in late 2014 or early 2015.
