Pretty Gritty Tours, in conjunction with the Tacoma Historic Preservation Office, will be offering a FREE walking tour of the Salishan Neighborhood. This will be an opportunity to hear about how this area developed and how it has changed over the years and we will be focusing on the diversity that was a cornerstone to its development. "Salishan is a diverse and mixed-income neighborhood of Tacoma, Washington that was originally created as World War II housing project but, starting in 2002, has been demolished and rebuilt into a new neighborhood of homes, apartments, services, and parks on new infrastructure. It is located on Tacoma's Eastside." The walk will last from 11am to 12:30pm. It should be a great summer day.
Please join us, and bring a story, memory, or photograph about the neighborhood's history to share!
