Each member serves a minimum three-year term and the time commitment is approximately four to six hours a month, plus six hours for an annual retreat. Members shall be civic or business leaders with experience in such fields as finance, real estate development, law or construction management and, to the extent possible, a majority of the membership shall be residents of Pierce County. The FWDA will undertake, assist with, and otherwise facilitate the redevelopment of property within and along the Thea Foss Waterway, currently an underutilized and blighted waterfront area in the heart of Tacoma.
