Join Your Community in A National Night Out Against Crime

Tonight is National Night Out, and Tacoma neighborhoods have planned community events throughout the city.

The events are grassroots efforts to provide neighbors an opportunity to meet, share a meal and get to know one another. National Night Out is a worldwide event. Since it began in 1984, millions of people in thousands of communities around the United States and the world participate on second Tuesday in August to have a night out against crime.

The City of Tacoma helps promote National Night Out and participates in activities in the neighborhood districts. Safe Streets helps coordinate the events and keeps the list of “parties” that are planned. To find a party, visit safest.org.
