Tacoma Municipal Court Updates
TACOMA, Wash. – As part of ongoing efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 across the community, the Tacoma Municipal Court has implemented the following safety measures:
- Customer service counters are temporarily closed to the public until further notice. This change was implemented November 18, 2020.
- All criminal jury trials are suspended until at least January 11, 2021, pending further order of the Court. This change was implemented November 25, 2020.
- All in-person criminal proceedings, with the exception of in-custody arraignments, in-custody review hearings, in-custody pre-trial conferences, and in-custody mental health competency hearings, will be continued and rescheduled to a date after January 11, 2021, pending further order of the Court. Motions, actions on agreed upon orders, status conferences or other proceedings that can appropriately be conducted by telephone, video or other means that does not require in-person attendance may be exempt from this requirement. The Court reserves the right to maintain or schedule in-person attendance.
