City of Tacoma Invites Local Businesses to Submit Information for ‘Celebrate Tacoma’

-- Searchable Database to Launch in November Encourages Support of Tacoma Businesses --

TACOMA, Wash. -- The City of Tacoma’s Community and Economic Development Department is gearing up for a November 2020 launch of Celebrate Tacoma, a searchable database of businesses that sell directly to consumers and are licensed and located within Tacoma’s city limits.

“I am excited that the City is preparing to launch Celebrate Tacoma to highlight local retailers, restaurants and service businesses that have been especially hard hit by COVID-19,” said Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards. “I want to thank our local businesses in advance for providing their information, as their efforts will allow us to build a valuable tool to support the many businesses that add to Tacoma’s vitality and character over the holiday season.”

To be included in Celebrate Tacoma, local retail, restaurant, café and service businesses are invited to participate in a brief survey.

Businesses involved in selling guns, sexual products/services, gambling products restricted by federal law including cannabis, or tobacco products/ electronic cigarettes as well as those located outside Tacoma city limits will be unable to be featured in Celebrate Tacoma. The database is informational only and does not represent a recommendation or endorsement by the City.

Information on resources for Tacoma’s businesses is available at MakeitTacoma.com.

As the situation evolves, general information about the City’s response to COVID-19 will be posted on the “What’s Going On” section of the City’s website. Information about COVID-19 is available at TPCHD.org/coronavirus.
