A Joint Statement From Mayor Victoria Woodards and Council Member Robert Thoms on
Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board Expansion of Cocktail Sales

TACOMA, Wash. – "We appreciate Governor Jay Inslee and the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board leadership listening to our amazing restaurants seeking to stay open and strong. The State guidance allowing them to safely sell mixed drinks to go will provide much needed relief and resiliency for our small business partners while allowing customers to have access to delicious craft cocktails. Tacoma restaurants wanted this opportunity, and we were proud to help.

Thanks to this new rule, restaurants will be able to reactivate their existing inventories to serve our community in this creative format that has been tested in other parts of the country. We are excited to see our restaurants resuming this part of their business activity, and hope it will be a lifeline for impacted Tacoma businesses.”
