Tacoma Selected to Host the FORUM 2020 Conference

Tacoma has been selected to host the National Alliance of Preservation Commission’s FORUM 2020 conference. This is the first time this national conference will be hosted on the West Coast.

FORUM is a biennial conference that includes dozens of educational sessions and discussion panels, mobile workshops and tours, and five days of non-stop networking for commission staff and volunteers representing local, state, and national organizations, and government agencies in historic preservation.

“We’re thrilled to be holding FORUM 2020 in Tacoma, Washington and look forward to exploring the history, culture and strong preservation practice of Tacoma and the Pacific Northwest,” said NAPC Executive Director Stephanie Paul.

During the next year, the City of Tacoma’s Historic Preservation Office, along with other certified local governments and state entities, will be working to support the NAPC as they plan the conference.

“Tacoma is excited to have this opportunity to showcase the city and its historic resources,” said Historic Preservation Officer Reuben McKnight. “We are honored to be chosen as the first West Coast city to host the conference.”
