What is 2017-2018 Amendment?
Starting January 2017, the City is considering amendments to the One Tacoma: Comprehensive Plan and the Land Use Regulatory Code (i.e., Title 13 of the Tacoma Municipal Code), pursuant to the State Growth Management Act. The process is slated for completion in June 2018. This is the first two-year cycle of processing amendments; it used to be on an annual basis, with the last one being the 2016 Annual Amendment.

Applications Received To Date
One private application has been received, as posted below:
- "Car Wash Rezone" - Brown Bear Car Wash is seeking rezone of two parcels at 6th Avenue and S. Howard Street from NCX to UCX to allow car washing facilities.
Technically, the two-year cycle only applies to proposed amendments to the One Tacoma Plan. Proposed amendments to the Land Use Regulatory Code may be submitted at any time, pursuant to the Tacoma Municipal Code, Section 13.02.045.D. However, staff strongly recommends that, unless otherwise directed by the City Council, Code amendments be processed concurrently with Plan amendments, so to ensure the consistency between plan policies and development regulations and to allow more effective use of staff recourses through a consolidated process.
