Free van transportation to the Beacon and Lighthouse Activity Centers is offered to eligible seniors living in the city limits of Tacoma. The service offered is a modified curb to curb service. Riders must be able to independently walk to the van, then navigate the steps into and off the van. Riders are able to establish regular rides or be designated as “will call”.
Center transportation is provided as a group ride. All riders going to the same center are picked up together then taken to the center. Pickup times are between 8 AM - 9:30 AM depending on your location. Center vans leave centers for the return trip at 1:30 PM- 2 PM Monday through Friday.
Registration for van ridership is arranged with the Center Supervisor of the center in your area. It takes approximately 48 hours from your initial signup for your first ride. Your center van driver will contact you with the exact date/time of your first pickup.
