- Crime prevention through environmental design
- Community cleanups
- Landlord-tenant issues and inspections
- Crime-free housing training
Support to Community Groups
The City's Community Based Services team is available to help you resolve issues in your neighborhood from installing speed humps to eliminating a derelict house.
Our staff is also available to attend your community meetings or assist with arranging presentations by City staff on a range of topics. To request attendance or have staff assist you with a community project please call (253) 591-5000 or send us a request here.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
If you need help making your property or neighborhood safer, CBS is available to evaluate properties for ways you can reduce potential crimes through a program called Crime Prevention through Environmental Design.
If you would like a CPTED survey of your property or a presentation to your group, please contact us by phone at (253) 591-5119 or send us an email.
This litter reduction program gives citizens the opportunity to lend a hand to help keep our public spaces clean. Our CBS team provides adopters supplies to help with your efforts. Your civic stewardship will be recognized with an attractive sign bearing the Adopt-a-Spot logo and the name of the sponsoring group or organization.
The City of Tacoma appreciates the efforts of the community to keep spaces clean in the interest of public health and wellness. For more information on the Adopt-a-Spot program, call 311 or submit a request here to let us know you want to adopt.
