Council Member Keith Blocker - Position 3
Council Member Keith Blocker was elected to the District 3 seat of the Tacoma City Council in 2015. He is currently the director of middle school programs for the non-profit Peace Community Center, providing academic coaching, life skills training, and early college preparation to students at Jason Lee Middle School. He is also a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum and currently sits on the board of the FISH Food Bank, whose mission is to provide nutritious food to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. His devotion to improving our community has earned him the City Club of Tacoma's Dennis Seinfeld’s Emerging Leadership Award and the Business Masters Exchange Club of Pierce County Golden Deeds Award.
Council Member Blocker attended Tacoma Community College, and later transferred to the University of Puget Sound where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. He has been a Tacoma resident for ten years and previously worked for Metro Parks. He and his wife, Christina, live in the Hilltop community and they are expecting their first child in April 2016.
