Council Member Anders Ibsen - Position 1
Council Member Anders Ibsen was elected to the District 1 seat of the Tacoma City Council in 2011, and re-elected in 2015. He is a Tacoma native, and attended St. Patrick's School, Truman Middle School, and graduated in the first-ever class of the Tacoma School of the Arts with an emphasis in music. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science and sociology from the Evergreen State College.
Council Member Ibsen has worked at local non-profits, served as a legislative staffer and a law firm administrator, and currently works as a real estate appraiser. His previous board service includes the North End Neighborhood Council and the Tacoma Food Co-Op, in addition to a three-year term of elected service on the Pierce County Conservation District from 2008 to 2011. He attends St. Leo's Parish, and is an active member of the local community garden.
