Establishment and Purpose
The mission of the Blue Ribbon Panel is to advance the vision that by the year of 2025, Tacoma will be known as one of the safest cities in Washington, by studying residential property crime within the City and making actionable, measurable, and equitable recommendations for a systems-based approach to reducing residential property crime and increasing the safety of our community.
For the purposes of the Task Force, residential property crimes include both burglary and car prowling activity in non-commercial areas of the city. The Task Force members were selected by the City Manager, and is scheduled to meet for 7 sessions between October and March. Its final report and recommendations will be submitted to the City by March 2016.
