Feather Signs

What are Feather Signs?

Image displaying an example of a feather signFeather signs are portable, freestanding signs usually comprised of nylon or a similar material affixed to a light-weight pole. The City Council recently adopted an ordinance which allows feather signs in mixed-use and commercial zoning districts. The ordinance also highlighted areas where feather signs have historically not been allowed, such as the Downtown Zoning Districts.  After hearing from community members and downtown businesses on the subject, it was determined that feather signs may be appropriate in downtown districts.  Staff is currently  conducting community outreach on this topic.
