Fair Housing

The Tacoma Neighborhood and Community Services Department, Human Rights Division investigates and resolves complaints alleging discrimination in housing which violates the Law Against Discrimination, Chapter 1.29 of the Official code of the City of Tacoma, as amended, and the Federal Fair housing Act.

The Fair Housing Code, Chapter 1.29,  as amended, prohibits unfair housing practices in the rental, sale, or financing of housing based on:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Sex
  • Religion
  • Age
  • National Origin
  • Marital Status
  • Familial Status
  • Disability
  • Ancestry
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Gender Identity
  • Veteran/Military Status
