Keynote Address by Dr. Clayborne Carson
Dr. Clayborne Carson, executive director of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute at Stanford University, will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming event. Carson, who participated in the March on Washington in 1963 and contributed to the initial design of the King Memorial in Washington, D.C., was selected by the late Coretta Scott King to edit and publish Dr. King’s papers. He is touted by the national media as one of the United States’ top authorities on the work of the late civic rights leader.
Also to be featured at the upcoming event is the photography of Bernard Kleina, who is widely considered to be one of the most respected advocates for fair housing in the United States. Kleina has served as the executive director of the award-winning HOPE Fair Housing Center in Illinois for over 36 years, and his photography has been exhibited across the country and in Europe.
