Healthy Homes, Healthy Neighborhoods third program year focuses on the Hilltop neighborhood.  Hilltop is an exceptionally diverse and changing neighborhood, home to both the Hilltop Subarea Plan and planned Link Light Rail extension.

The Healthy Homes, Healthy Neighborhoods program hopes to honor the neighborhoods rich history and diversity while connecting residents to resources to help them save money and live more environmentally friendly.

The Hilltop program will run from September 2015 to July of 2016.

  • Get gardening and access healthy, local, environmentally-conscious food!
Hilltop Action Coalition (HAC)
Central Neighborhood Council (CNC).

Neighborhood Meetings

Hilltop residents can attend monthly neighborhood council and community group meetings to stay in the loop about current issues, initiatives, and events in Hilltop.  These are great forums to voice concerns or ideas and to get connected with local community leaders and city representatives.
  • Hilltop Action Coalition Meetings - every third Monday from 6-7:30 PM in the Community Room at the Community Healthcare Building (1202 S. MLK Jr. Way, 98405).  For more information on the Hilltop Action Coalition, visit their website and Facebook page.

  • 8th & I Neighbors Group Meetings - For more information on 8th & I Neighbors Group, visit their Facebook page.

  • Central Neighborhood Council Meetings - every first Thursday from 7-8:30 PM at the Tacoma Nature Center (1919 S. Tyler, 98405). For more information on the Central Neighborhood Council, visit their website and Facebook page.

  • Wednesday, August 17, 2016 - "Know Your Ropes" Walk #5 - A Walk With THA: Design, Affordability, Community and Justice
    6 PM - EB Wilson Apartments, 1202 S. M St.

    Led by Michael Mirra, Director of Tacoma Housing Authority, and Andrea Cobb, Tacoma School Board and Tacoma Housing Authority.
