Between fall 2014 and summer 2015, Healthy Homes, Healthy Neighborhoods (HHHN) focused on the Eastside’s Dometop neighborhood. In addition to the knock-and-talk conversations we had with over 600 households, we also hosted a pancake breakfast, a neighborhood cleanup, an urban hike, a gardening workshop, and a Depave event to replace unnecessary pavement with green space on McKinley Avenue.
As a result of these efforts, 15 families received raised garden beds, a struggling community garden was filled with new members, 42 families changed out their high-polluting wood stoves, and dozens of residents connected with the local community group and other partner organizations.
