Project Description
The South Tacoma Way improvement project will rehabilitate the roadway along South Tacoma Way from 43rd Street to 47th Street and from 56th Street to 66th Street. The project will include the following work.
- Grinding and overlay of the street from curb to curb
- Addition of bike lanes in each direction
- Addition of LED streetlights where necessary
- Reconstruction of all non ADA-compliant driveways and curb ramps
- Addition of sidewalks and curbs on each side of the road
- Improvement of the intersection at South 47th Street to provide a transition to the existing Water Flume Line Trail.

Estimated Start Date - September 2, 2015
Estimated Finish Date - December 9, 2015

- Addition of sidewalks where there are gaps and replacement of all hazardous sidewalks
- Construction of the connection from Water Flume Line Trail at South Tacoma Way to the Sounder Regional Passenger Rail Kiss-n-Ride at 58th Street and 60th Street

The City awarded a contract to Tucci & Sons, Inc. for the construction phase of this project.
