City of Tacoma Hosting Senate Bill 6312 Impact Discussion

The City of Tacoma will welcome Sen. Jeannie Darneille and Optum CEO Cheri Dolezal on Tuesday, Sept. 16 for a discussion with Tacoma’s mental health and chemical dependency providers about Senate Bill 6312.

The bill, which requires the integration of state Medicaid contracting for physical and behavioral health is the first step in bringing together behavioral health, under one system.

The impact of the bill, which was passed earlier this year and requires full adoption by 2020, will be the focus of the discussion from 10 a.m. to at Evergreen College – Tacoma Campus, 1210 6th Ave.

The discussion will include a presentation about the City’s .1 percent Mental Health/Chemical Dependency funding. Darneille and Dolezal will also make presentations about the bill and its impacts before entertaining questions. 

Seating is limited to the first 250 attendees.
