The D Street Overpass is complete
Traffic is now flowing in all directions on the overpass.
If you haven't done so already, visit this overpass soon to view the artistic components including traffic barriers that have been cast in the shape of tug boats, lighting and fencing that reflects sails on a ship and three scenic overlooks, including interpretive panels that illustrate the history, geography, industry and the cultural richness of this area.
Thanks go out to everyone who attended our ribbon-cutting ceremony to help us celebrate the completion of this $24.5 million project!
The City of Tacoma also has to thank all of the businesses within the Dome District and the Thea Foss Waterway for their endless patience during this construction.
Residents, we hope you'll support these businesses even more now that your overpass will provide such an easy connection between them.
