Affordable Housing Developer Loans

If you develop affordable emergency, transitional, rental or homeownership housing for lower income individuals and families, your program may qualify for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to help you with the purchase, renovation or construction of housing within the City of Tacoma. The use of these funds will require long-term affordability and income restrictions. Information on funding priorities for the City, as well as federal regulations accompanying the use of these funds is provided below for your information. In addition, the use of these funds in projects will require long-term monitoring by City staff of the projects funded. At a minimum, an Annual Report will be required to be submitted to the City, along with on-going housing quality inspections.

The Tacoma Community Development Authority (TCRA) is a board who administers and approves funding for housing and business programs in cooperation with the City of Tacoma. Annually they will issue Request For Proposals (RFP) to provide you with the opportunity to apply for the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funds for your housing project.
