The City of Tacoma owns and operates two senior activity centers, Beacon Activity Center and Lighthouse Activity Center, that provide a comprehensive array of programs designed to improve and maintain health, stimulate learning, and provide socialization, recreational, and volunteer opportunities for people age 50 and older.
The two senior activity centers are also meal sites where nutritious lunch is served at noon, Monday through Friday. On Wednesday every week, the Lighthouse Activity Center hosts the Hispanic Meal Site, which offers an authentic Hispanic menu and programs in the Spanish language.

Free van transportation is available to both activity centers for seniors living in the city limits of Tacoma. The Center Supervisor of the activity center closest to you can help you register for van transportation.
Center News - The two senior activity centers publish a joint bi-monthly newsletter listing all of the activities availible with time, place, and cost.

The two senior activity centers offer joint weekly van trips and outdoor walking opportunities for indepenedant seniors. These trips offer adventures at reduced cost, and the fun and securty of a group outing. Advance registration is required. July Van Trips
