South 9th Street will be down to one lane on Tuesday (Feb. 28)
The South 9th Street project in Downtown Tacoma is scheduled to close the eastbound lane (downhill) on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The lane closure is needed to facilitate pouring concrete. As work continues on the other two lanes, there will only be one lane open for travel during this time. Traffic control will be in place. Drivers should drive cautiously and expect delays.
Scope of Project
The South 9th Street improvement project will reconstruct South 9th Street from Market Street to Commerce Street. Improvements will include new sidewalks, crosswalks, bulb outs and a new cement concrete roadway surface.
