Welcome to the Emergency Operations BureauTFD Logo

The Emergency Operations Bureau manages the day-to-day activities of the Department's emergency responders.  The on duty personnel are divided into two Battalions, each with an assigned Battalion Chief and Incident Safety Officer.  Each Battalion has eight engines, two ladder trucks and a total of 5 medic units in service city-wide.  The staff works a four-shift rotation.  The Operations Division has on-duty personnel with specialized skills to respond to unusual emergencies such as hazardous materials events, high angle rescues, trench rescues and confined space rescues.  The Department also maintains a fireboat for response to marine incidents on Puget Sound.
