Dock Street project gains new stairway and decorative lighting
The widening of Dock Street from South 11th to South 15th Streets is complete.  A new stairway at the 15th Street Bridge is installed and was functional for the Tall Ships event.  Decorative lighting has been installed.  For more information about this project, please contact Chris Storey at 573-2484.

Project boundaries: South 11th Street to South 15th Street

  • The widening of Dock Street from South 11th to 15th streets is almost complete.
  • Landscaping at the park is in process and the decorative lighting has been ordered.
  • The signal at 15th Street is functioning allowing for a controlled intersection.
  • It has been determined that construction can proceed on a new stairway at the 15th Street bridge along with decorative lighting.

   About the Dock Street Project
  
The Dock Street project, which will extend and widen Dock Street from South 11th to South 15th streets, is in progress. On Nov. 28, the City Council awarded a contract to Active Construction, and work got underway in early February 2007. 

The work consists of grading, pavement removal, permanent asphalt concrete pavement roadway construction, cement concrete curb and gutter installation, cement concrete driveway and sidewalk construction, storm, sanitary sewer and water main installations, streetlight installation, landscaping, utility trench conduits and vault installations.

 Project Schedule

Construction began in early February 2007.

 Traffic Control 

Dock Street will remain open for  the duration of the construction project. However due to the nature of the work, traffic will be restricted and during certain times flaggers will control access through the site.

Access will remain open to all local businesses and their truck deliveries. Detour signs to Dock Street will be installed along Pacific Avenue and Schuster Parkway.
