Tacoma’s rich past is evident in its historic districts located throughout the city. The primarily residential North Slope Historic District, for instance, is on both the National and the Tacoma Registers of Historic Places. This district contains more than 900 sites, making it the largest Nationally registered historic district in the State of Washington.
In downtown Tacoma there are two historic districts: Old City Hall and the Union Depot/Warehouse Districts. And adjoining the Union Depot/Warehouse District is the Union Station Conservation District.
Additionally, one of Tacoma’s high-style residential neighborhoods is listed on the National Register of Historic Districts. A drive throughout the Stadium/Seminary District is a look back to the grand days of Tacoma’s lumber barons.
