On Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. a contractor will start replacing the sanitary sewer line from the intersection of South 56th Street and Alaska Street onward to South 60th Street. Due to the large volume of traffic in this area, the work needs to be performed at night and on the weekends.
Traffic restrictions are required to complete the work. West bound traffic will be detoured at Yakima Avenue to South 72nd Street. East bound traffic will be reduced to one lane with a uniform officer controlling the flow.
The project is expected to be complete on Sunday, May 13. The scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change.
