Vehicle Identification -
Teekah Lewis Disappearance
Tacoma Police Detectives are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a vehicle that may have been involved in the 1999 disappearance of Teekah Lewis. The two and a half year-old disappeared from the New Frontier Lanes Bowling Alley located at 4702 Center Street in Tacoma on January 23, 1999. Teekah had been at the bowling alley with her family that evening. She was wearing a green Tweety Bird sweatshirt, white sweatpants, black & white Nike Air Jordan tennis shoes, and was carrying a clear plastic purse with a fish design. July 4, 2011 was Teekah's 15th birthday.
Teekah was last seen in the area of the arcade. She was reported missing at about 10:20 p.m. A witness who was arriving at the bowling alley around the same time, reported seeing a mid-90's dark maroon or possibly purple Pontiac Grand AM with dark tinted windows and a trunk spoiler speeding out of the parking lot. The vehicle was last seen driving east on Center Street toward Highway 16 at a high rate of speed.
Although hundreds of people have been interviewed during the course of this investigation; the mysterious vehicle has never been identified. Detectives believe the vehicle may have been driven by someone who frequented the bowling alley. At the time, New Frontier Lanes had a lounge and dart room, as well as pull tabs. The attached pictures are photos of a Pontiac Grand AM’s similar to the vehicle described by the witness. Anyone with information about who may have been driving this vehicle in January 1999 is asked to contact Tacoma/Pierce County Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959 or send tips to the Tacoma Police website: www.tacomapolice.org
