The City of Tacoma Landlord-Tenant Program is focused on improving the quality of life for the citizens of Tacoma by equipping landlords and tenants with the tools needed to sustain safe, healthy, equitable and crime free communities.
The primary function of the Landlord/Tenant program is to receive, analyze, and resolve landlord-tenant disputes that arise under the Washington State Residential Landlord-Tenant Act (RCW 59.18). This service is free and available to both property owners and tenants within the Tacoma City limits.
The landlord/tenant program offers services in the following areas:

• Training
• Dispute Resolution
- Rent Issues
- Deposit Issues
- Repair/Maintenance Issues
- Building Code Violations
The Landlord-Tenant Coordinator can be reached at 253-591-5163, TTY 253-591-5153, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Walk-in assistance is also offered on Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Inquires can also be emailed to hrhs@cityoftacoma.org.
