View the Special Events Task Force Final Report that was delivered the the City of Tacoma's Government Performance and Finance Committee on Aug. 7, 2007.
Objective:
Establish a Task Force comprised of event producers or other key representatives from the Tacoma special events community to provide input on the development of policies for the Special Events Office.
Goal:
To ensure the infrastructure and function of the Special Events Office meets the needs of the existing Tacoma special events community, assists in the promotion and marketing of all special events, and leverages resources to enhance existing special events and encourage the development/introduction of new events in Tacoma.
Task Force Nominees:
Each special event group/association listed below is invited to nominate a representative to participate on the Task Force.
Candidates are be expected to attend all regularly scheduled meetings (approximately 4-6).
Responsibilities:
Provide recommendations on the proposed functions of the Special Events Office.
Assist in developing the governing policies for the Special Events Office.
Communicate the Task Force’s progress and next steps back to his/her special event group/association.
Approval Process:
Task Force recommendations will be included in the Special Events Office report for review and consideration by the Tacoma City Council and Metropolitan Park District Park Board.
