The Tacoma City Council is inviting qualified individuals to apply for an open position on the Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The Landmarks Commission is currently seeking applications for the following position:
- Professional: Open to individuals with documented professional experience or training related to historic preservation originating from employment or study within a related discipline, who reside or work within the City of Tacoma.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission oversees the establishment and regulation of landmarks, landmark sites and historic districts. Commission meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
The Commission is comprised of 11 citizen volunteers who serve three-year terms. Members are recommended for appointment by the Council Appointments Committee and confirmed by the City Council. For more information, visit www.tacomaculture.org.
